I recall seeing a forum article that said it would retail around US$350.

If its well made, that would not be too bad.

Wonder who makes it for Rolex.

Very nice indeed...although I've heard UK prices are around £300 for a single winder, so not exactly cheap...won't stop me letting the girlfriend get me one from xmas though!

Plus ?battery-operated, which doesn't appeal.

Underwood winders can use both batteries or AC outlet, i would guess this one too ? Not like Rolex to do anything half arsed!

The Rolex winder is battery operated only - not mains powered - and runs using two batteries. Estimated battery life is 3 years. It will be available through all Rolex AD's later this year and the cost is £490 GBP. This is the information I got from the Rolex UK sales office.

Is this the first product Rolex will sell to the public that isn't a watch?

I'd rather have this at less money tbh http://www.underwood-london.com/rotobox-multiples-leather.html

I am a fan of Orbita winders.

In Switzerland as we speak and..... on sale - picking up Saturday price is 790 CHF so with tax deduction about £420 odd. A lot but when you see it it is well worth it. Glass front leather trim, lovely hinges etc......... Considering £0000's are spent on the watch the price seems pretty reasonable to me. Anyone else interested??

I'd rather they sell a nice watch storage case, winders are worthless IMO. :p

Lawrence: use the Google money converter.
Simply enter "490 gbp in usd" in the Google search box and you'll get your answer.

I know I could have done that and spent less time on this post, but I'm following the old adage of "give a man a fish and he will eat for one day; teach him to fish and he will eat forever"... ;)

Unless you already knew the Google function and just couldn't be arsed to do it...LOL! :)

Has anyone found out who makes this winder for Rolex?

Would be interesting to know.

Orbita makes some very interesting winders and I have been looking at them for a while.

Very dear in Japan.

Just purchased a Seinhausen, many grades below the Orbita, but it looks very good.
