This was my first car accident ever. It happened 2 weeks ago when a guy sailed through the stop sign and I collided with him at about 40 mph. The damage looks quite superficial but I just got a call from the collision center and they said it will cost $26k to fix:eek: I barely paid that much for it. They said it has an aluminum frame that has to be repaired and not replaced.
I had to be a complete assh*** to Allstate insurance in order to finally get them to admit full liability.
Maybe a 2003 M5 this time around:D, if they in actually total it. The Jaguar (tata) XFR is still too expensive for me:mad:

Thanks, guys. It could have been worse. Neither party got hurt and the airbags didn't even deploy.

As owner of a 2000 M5, I highly recommend getting one! Best car purchase ever! BTW, dont forget to look at the E60 M5s, they are cheap now too...
Glad it was just the car that got damaged...

Annoying.
Glad you're OK, though, Shola.
Did you use the guy sitting at the corner of the road (in the top picture) as a witness? :)

No, he was very annoying actually. He later crossed the road to get a closer look for about 5 minutes:)

If they write this one off, my choices will be between a 2003 M5, 05 545i or 06 550i. I now work for myself, so I'm working with a limited budget for now:D

550i is not bad that was my option between that and M45 port 06... i went for the M45 because it had more gadgets and fun stuffs

He quoted me $21k and he thinks there is about 4k or 5k more to go. I guess that it costs a lot to replace an aluminum frame since it can't be straightened.

It's only metal, no harm done. If you want to buy used, the 2006 M5's are very cheap now, in the 40's. My cousin just traded in his 06 M5 and got 37K for it.

$26k is Morgan/Denmark type money!
At least you're ok - that's the most important thing.

In Denmark 26K is only the oil change for the car.
