Listed my SD on the sales forum and i got this as a reply
"I think you will find out this watch is not discontinued I got offered 3 BNIB from
AD in Glasgow two weeks ago one a very good friend told me they were still being
made and have no intention of stopping I did not take because of the new list price
was crazy."
I thought the SD was now discontinued being "replaced" by the DeepSea.

This is what i heard and i stand to be corrected.
Everyone thought that the M series sea dweller will be the last production with the deep sea as the replacement. But V series sea dwellers can now be found in AD so i guess rolex is still producing the DSSD ansd the SD.
My guess is it will take some time but it will finally be discontinued
Same happened with the classic non ceramic GMT II
It is my understanding that the 16600 has been discontinued.

does anyone know of any 16600 SDs being sold or available for sale in the last week at ADs?
all dealers I spoke with at the start of April insisted that the beginning April delivery was the very last...but there seem to be several for sale through grey dealers/private sales and I just wanted to ascertain whether these pieces were very recent or from early April.

yes. I turned one down on friday as did two other people i know.
official line is that it is discontinued, however they've been saying that for a couple months and my AD has made at least 8 people very proud to get his last one :)
the great seadweller swindle of 2009 i've been calling it since xmas, great marketing on the part of Ad's, huge price hike, no discounts.

I got one yesterday, and am pretty sure there are enough to go around. Personally I'm not too bothered if its the last serial or not, because that's not a factor I can see making much of any difference to value over the long term, but I'd be pissed off if I was buying for that reason and it turned out to be BS.
My AD still has at least one.

agreed - great marketing by ADs.
i've noted a massive variation in grey market pricing. some are asking/have asked for as much as £5250 in the last few weeks whilst others are offering at list.

Yep: one turned up at the end of last week at my local AD - it's in the window.
