my Max has died

Those of you that know me well for all this years know how much I loved my pup Max. He was a family member, my friend, the kid that I do not have.
On Friday ,while I was still overseas he died at age 7... but nobody told me anything. Today I arrived in Spain and I was told as soon as I was picked up at the airport. I guess only people that ever had such an incredible affectionate relationship with a dog will understand me my pain. I will exchange my life for his if I could that much is how I love him.

Sorry for your loss, it is very very hard to lose a beloved pet. I lost my dog last year and after 2 weeks couldn't stand being in the house without another one. Now I have a new friend, not a replacement, no that could never be, but a new friend.

Max was the best friend that I could have ever wished for, I was blessed for having him in my life, the joy and love he gave me will never be matched. I will get his ashes tomorrow and he will rest for ever at my father farm, under his favorite lemon tree, where he used to play with the lemons... my beloved Max

Every pet owner, from the child with the goldfish to the adult with his companion, be it a canary, cat, dog or horse knows exactly what you are going through. We have all cared for some creature as if it was our only child.

But just think how lucky it was to find you and not to have suffered on the streets living as a wild animal, think of all the good times you had and all the love which you adorned on your dog. If there is a heaven just think how happily you will be being watched constantly by one you loved so much.

Every animal, from the smallest of spiders to the largest of mammals has a precious life and this should never be cut short by the intervention of humans as their death ultimately impacts on the life of another and makes our own existence so much poorer.

Be happy for the wonderful time that you both shared together, that can never be replaced and will always remain special in your heart.

thanks all, you are very kind. Today I received his ashes as I had him cremated. I am going to place the ashes at my father farm under a lemon tree that Max used to love. He was a big fan of playing with lemons. My boy will rest in peace with his lemons.

thank you Greg your words are so very much true. Today is a public holiday here and I am driving to my father farm with Max ashes. I will buried him there , the place Max loved the most, he will rest in peace under his favorite tree, a lemon tree where he used to play all day will the lemons in the ground. I use to lay under the tree with him, just the two of us, priceless moment.
