A couple of weeks ago my son, Tage, received a present from my Mum to celebrate Vaisaki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaisakhi#1699:_Guru_Gobind_Rai_.28Singh.29_establi shes_the_Khalsa), one the most important festivals in the Sikh Calendar.

Together with his other cousins, he received a Flik-Flak watch (http://www.flikflak.com/en/infos/a-passion-since-1987.html) - a children's watch made by the Swatch Group.

He wears it all the time (...just like his dad) :)

And the obligatory close-up wrist-shot, of course...

He's become really good at telling the time and also knows to say "o'clock" and "half-past" as appropriate - not bad for a 4 year old even if he doesn't actually understand the concept of time, yet...!

Actually, he's an old hand at wrist-shots, this one below being his first one...! That Patek has its paperwork code number being his date of birth as I bought the watch to celebrate his birth. But I won't be telling him that for a loooong time....!

Time flies...

Hey Harb, I bet you can't wait until the day he'll be sporting daddy's fine watch collection!:D

Good to see he's started young. Perhaps a fine Mickey Mouse wrist watch with moving arms should be next in young Tage's collection?

Thanks guys!
I'd once thought him and his brother won't get them till I'm dust but, on thinking about it, I wouldn't want to stiff them with the inheritance tax.

He'd probably reckon that was a retrograde step for him...unless it was one of these Gerald Genta special editions...

Great pics :)
Swatch was my first watch, although I was a late bloomer and didn't start wearing them until the early 80's.

Great pics :)

Thanks! :)

I have strong memories of the watch my own father used to wear when I was about 5 years old. I'm sure my watches will make strong memories for my boys.

Tage, when he was about a year and a half, used to look at my watches on their winders - he'd say the "watches are dancing".

And my youngest, who's a year and half now, looks at them in the same way....except he's such a mischevious little fellow I can tell he's trying to work out how to get them! Fortunately, they're well out of his reach!!

Whatever watches they do get, though, I'll make sure the boxes/papers are kept safe! :)

I saw him live once with a group of friends, tears of laughter... Absolutely brilliant.

Hilarious! Absolute genius!

And it's quite a coincidence you posted that and this Thread has popped back up because I found his watch, last night, in one of my watch-boxes which has been packed away during some renovation work at our house and just this very morning he was asking me how to tell the time and I promised I would teach him! The Dave Allen technique seems to work! :)
