Hello everyone,

Just been on a 3 week tri-city trek through Tokyo/Beijing/Hongkong in April, and survived the cold chilly winds from the pacific and the mongolian desert, but of all things after just a week back in the work office enviroment, struck down by the office bug doing the rounds :(

Rolex as usual was well represented in HKG and Tokyo, and was actually aiming for ExpII White dial, and managed to get a deal BNIB AUD$3600 from a grey dealer in Tokyo, but didn't pull the pin. After years of Panerai, relinqushing the GMTII and then getting a ND Sub for the missus, I don't think i can wear anything less than 44mm watch or of some weight like the Deepsea/new sub. Unfortunately, the deepsea is too thick and over my budget, so the new sub when it get's released should be interesting.

Anyway, I picked up the hydro 1200 and could not put it down and thus came home with me, please excuse the quick camera shots (not that i'm any good at macro shots).
- 45mm diameter
- thinner than the deepsea and hence sits better on my wrist and under cuffs
- came with a very good substantial rubber strap , not pictured.
- looks much better in person than in pictures, and all for less than under AUD$3K.

Very happy now or until the next itch comes around. ;)

Have a happy hump day..

Best regards
ken

Nicely done, Ken!
Looks a pretty substantial watch. Does it have a helium escape valve?

Wear it in great health, mate! :)

Thanks :)

Still coming to terms with the pentax k7 and this with the 18-55mm kit lens.

Sizeable-looking beast!

What's the quality like, ken? From the photos it seems well-made and, looking at the Heritage Chrono, it certainly looks like Tudor have stepped up their build and finish quality.

but what i've noticed so far is, compared to the sub;
-same lume strength
-smooth but firm bezel rotation, sub has a much more rachet and define clicking feel
-weight and feel is substantial or solid, just as the sub is
-rubber O ring also on the crown thread, however smaller thread diameter than the sub
-the feel of unscrewing and thightening the crown, i'm still getting the hang of it, as it does not have the feel of the sub. Feels fragile compared to the sub. Always get a feeling i need to be gentler for fear of damaging the thread due to misalignment.
-Must admit i know nothing about the Tudor movements, so i will need to do some reading. Recharging the power feels odd, as in it's not as smooth as the sub, winding the crown feels gritty, and at times if you start winding "slowly" it actually moves the oscillating weight giving the watch a "valjoux" wobble whilst you are winding. Hmm.. not sure if this is normal.

That's it so far, nothing major, but i am slightly concern about the winding issue. will let everyone know if i find anything.

Regards

Very well made. Big, but not super thick. Excellent clasp and bracelet.
