What color strap goes best? (except light brown/tan)

Pretty much anything would go, I reckon.
Depends on how you want to wear the watch - sober, muted colours if it needs to look traditional, bright and vivid for a bit of fun.

Which watch, John?

Like Harb said, any strap would look good with it. The Combination of White and steel is very neutral and will go with everything.

Such a great watch. It must be the most worn from my collection. So practical and easy to read.

By that I'll presume you mean you have the brown strap as in the picture and not the black as in the photograph.
Can I also presume you don't want black, as that's too ordinary?
It's a dress watch and you'll want it to look smart, so I'd go for a muted colour - which gives a bit of a lift, looks different but won't look out of place.

Some options:

Wine, which I have on my JLC (although as summer is here I will be changing it to its tan ostrich any time now...)

Or, if you want to be a little more daring, try a green...

Have a look at the ABP-Paris (http://www.abp-paris.com/watchbands_creations_watchstraps.php?rid=7&&cid=1)website - there are tons of photos there that will give you other ideas.
