Does anyone have any experience of this watch, one of the Prospex range that retails here for around £2k?

I think I may be able to pick up a new/NOS example for around £850 (well, manufacture date of Nov 08) from a pretty well-known and respected trader in Jakarta which - bearing in mind the quality of the watch - would make it a great bargain and arguably the perfect beater.

Fantastic watch!

They offer a whole series of "Master" watches and they are quite comprable to a Rolex in quality, not your typical entry level Seiko.

If I owned one, which I eventually plan to do, I'd replace the crystal with a sapphire aftermarket.

Get it and enjoy it.

FWIW, Seiko offers another new series a level below the Marine Master, but above the Monster, the Seiko SRP 043. You should check them out.

Quite possibly...if you're in the fortunate position to consider nearly a grand to be a "bargain"...:)

But yeah...as Greg/Yonkyu said, a fantastic watch.

looks good to me and I am sure it will make a hell of a beater, the only problem is the price as Harb commented

I guess it makes a good watch to wear out in situations where you wouldn't want to be seen with a Rolex. I can't really imagine most people thinking a Seiko would be worth mugging someone for.

I've been places where they would mug you for your fingernails.
Nice watch though:)

Well, a mugger with a Seiko price-list might go for this one...
