It's an elegant plan. Deviously simple. What I need from a volenteer is nothing more than a post.

1. On a different forum, you post pics a the Date I posted on the "9 years old" thread on this forum.
2. In the same thread post a few similar new model pics (that may be the hard part but I'm SURE someone here is up to it!).
3. Make out the post posing as a person who wants to get a Rolex for his wife. Describe her as Hard Working, Mother of a few kids, not easy on watches perhaps, down to earth i.e. not pretentious). You get the idea. Ask what women on the forum think of the pics you post for "her" especially the white date. Perhaps mention that you think the brushed links would hold up better than the polished modern one.

Then I show up and say, "Hey honey, look at this post from "some other guy". What do you think of these.

Clever? Crazy? So crazy "It just might work?"

Gotta be on another forum though (I think). Watchuseek, WTF, Timezone... Or I suppose here as beggars can't be choosy.

Big favor, but I promise to share the fun. BTW - I'm not exactly as new as my post count shows. I think I lost a few in translation.

I'd love to help but the only other forum I visit is POO - the Proctologists Open Organisation...So...perhaps not...

You could always register elsewhere and do your plan...

Seriously, though, I know giving a present/surprise is a fantastic feeling (particularly for a WIS) but I've always felt a watch is a very personal thing and I have never bought one for my missus without her seeing it or having innocently inveigled an opinion out of her.

Let us know how you get on...

BTW, I've fixed yuo post count/join date as per our old software :)

Hey thanks Harb! I may make a deal where if she doesn't care for it, they give me full credit toward a new one with my usual discount in place (6% tax on cash -- rather small I know).
