My new 'Omega Plant Ocean Liquid Metal' (http://lh6.ggpht.com/_XhOmYoBcYb8/SugMCIPZsEI/AAAAAAAAAJc/xUYw3Bg3hu0/s512/omega-seamaster-planet-ocean-liquidmetal-watch-01-361x540.jpg)is 'running in' so to speak.

Currently the watch is keeping time to +3s per day. Is this acceptable or should I speak to my AD?

Loving the watch BTW.

+3 seconds is slightly better than my 4 week old PO, which is doing just over 4 secs a day, both are within the specification, and from what I've read are what most people regard as acceptable for this sort of watch.
That said, since the +4s I get is consistent, I'd like to tune it out to 0s :D
I think the adjustment involves turning two tiny screws on the balance wheel by only a degree or two with a special Omega wrench, so whoever does it needs to be a proper Omega tech-person. If you get it done please let me know where so I can follow suit!

I've seen one of these in the flesh at a Southampton dealer, quite a shiny watch. Post pictures!

Thanks for the reply.

As this watch is only 48hrs old I will wait a week or three and see if it settles one way or another and then go back to my AD (Laings - Glasgow) and have the adjustment made. I would love to get down to +/-0s but realistically I don't think that will happen.

I will post a snap or two soon and yes it is very shiney - isn't it :D

The sales manger in the AD I got mine from suggested there would be a month or so's 'break-in' period, but I think this idea is subject to some debate...

I guess so...but, personally, I always give new mechanical watches 3-4 months to settle-in.

Nice looking watch, A.I.
I'd be happy enough with that accuracy - see my post above this one.

Congrats on the new piece, too - wear it in good health!

ps - I use Laings, too.

Hi Harb,

Thanks. I really love this watch. Everything about it speaks to me.

I read your posts on Laings forum a while ago but I've been waiting for moderator acceptance for weeks now - never mind. Not too bothered really.

Great service at Laings and Heather was really nice and let me try on plenty of watches inc several Rolex before I realised what I had felt for a while - that the PO Liquid Metal is a serious contender and many would say potential Sub-C killer . IMO.

Bring on the flames! ........and standing well back:p

Very nice indeed. The ceramic-ness of the bezel is quite different from the Rolex one; it looks more, metal! I guess that's the point.
The average + per day of mine has dropped from 4.5 to 3.5 now, so I think Harb may be right about waiting a good few months to see what it ends up as; this is worn 24/7 as well.

Is that second hand with a red rather than orange tip? I hadn't noticed that before.

Not a deep red but yes - red.

Yes - from those pictures it certainly looks less obviously ceramic.

Attractive and understated in the (dare I say it) traditional Rolex manner...

Cool photos, too, A.I!
