Hello,
You know when you see a newish BMW 5 series or a Mercedes E Class that the person is Upper Middle Class. In the watch world the Rolex DateJust is the same.
My wife is a Registered Nurse in a Children's Hospice so the Rolex President with double diamonds is a little off putting..... however as an everyday work watch the 2 Tone DateJust is ideal. Waterproof, Classic, Long lasting and very Upper Middle Class.
We choose the 2 tone model as the prices on the used market are similar to the all steel model. 2 Tone is a thing that comes into fashion every cycle. 2 Tone is class without being over the top.
We choose an Ivory dial with Romans as diamonds would push it too far to the flashy side of the equation! Diamonds are great but this is an everyday watch for a Registered Nurse. Discreet is the key. Professional but not too flashy.
I really love this watch and I have the mens equivilant in 2 tone (but with Diamonds!). I can justify the diamonds as I do not yet have a solid Gold Rolex President! So I can say the diamonds make up for that fact. NO SIR - the wife is not the one with the money! I PAID FOR EVERYTHING.... I just put her before me! Also I have already owned a few 18K President's in the past - sold to pay bills many years ago. I will get a President later.... but I love to spoil my lady first. I suspect I am not easy to live with at times... so she deserves all she gets!
