Dinner next Friday with Israeli Consul and others.

Israel is more important to my wifes business than mine, but important nonetheless.

Which watch should I wear.

GMT 11 c 18ct. Risk of appearing flash

Daytona TT Black MOP. So far can't find a negative , except that in some environments just being a Rolex can give the wrong message.

JLC SS RDM on grey Ostrich. Definately the main candidate Quality , no Flash. Shows, to the uninitiated greater dicernment than a Rolex.

JLC MC Boutique LTD Ruthinium on Blue Alli. Maybe too much.

Classic Chopard WG bracelt watch. Very discrete very understated . But it is very obviously WG.

GP Richville WG with Diamond Bezel. No way (Diamonds are definitly not the right message)

GP (1950's) Square 18ct on Brown Alli. 2nd favorite Could be the right watch.

Rolec Sub LV C Too new and too much of a potential attention grabber.

Those are the candidates.

I am still currently favouring the 1950's GP or the JLC RDM

Any opinions welcome.

The dinner function is small there will only be 6 of us at a private house.

Without wishing to sound too metro, what's the dress code for the evening? That'd be the main factor that would inform my decision in such a situation.

I know the host very well. So nothing has been specified. But I am sure not black tie. Smart/Cas. I would say.

J,
Please post photo of Chopard bracelet.

PS: The Botique could work, depending upon the shoes...

Sounds right, and given your comments, I also assume the mode of transport will also be appropriate.. :)

Going by the pics of your shoes, you're clearly a man who likes to make a statement.

I'd say the JLC on blue alligator would send just the right message - impeccable taste, but with a twist.
The horolgocal equivalent of a bespoke dark-blue suit with a brightly coloured lining.

if you go by the shoes you have dont wear anything
if you wear too many flashy things then people might not tell you but they will make fun of you
keep it as low profile as possible and let your wife glow as its her night afterall
if they see you in gold and colours/flashy they might think your wife is overpaid also and give bad impressions afterall
thats my honest opinion :)
