Finally got round to putting my watches into their winter straps (ie changed from brown/tan) and got a new electric blue one for my JLC Master Perpetual.

It's certainly pretty vivid and I think it looks cool!

Previously, the winter strap for this watch was a dark wine (http://www.newturfers.com/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=816&d=1251375826), and before that the OEM black (http://newturfers.com/mwf/attach/78/357678/JLC-pre-Ost.jpg), but I wanted something with a bit more impact!

Whaddya all reckon?!

Hi Harb,

That combo works really well! Recently the brown OEM strap on my SS Master Tourbillon bit the dust, so I replaced it with a JLC Memovox strap in black with contrasting white stiching.

I still can't believe how a strap change makes the watch completely different, and much more elegant.

I don't have any photos, but just writing this will most likely get me off my duff, find the camera and play around with a photo hosting service again. The past few months have been quite hectic, so really, not too much watch fun time lately.

Wow that is a nice strap. Looks great.
Is that OEM?

If not what make is it?

Also. Are you using the curved spring bars, or are they straight?

Thanks, Marc!

It's interesting you mention your OEM brown strap failing. The brown strap on my Dad's Master Calendar has worn and split. He's had the watch for perhaps 5 years and rotates it with his President, the strap is never wet and he doesn't live in a high humidity area, so I'm personally not very impressed by the strap going as it has.

JLC do a very similar colour OEM strap but this is from Ken Danks at The Strap Shop.co.uk (http://www.thestrapshop.co.uk/pages/lwb/elitePop/BigBlue.htm) - great quality, bargain price - as was the wine coloured one I've linked to, above.

It's on the original curved springbars that came with the watch and I've attached the original deployant. The end result neither looks nor feels that it cost £14!

I've decided that I don't want to pay for OEM or from specialist manufacturers when the result is more than satisfactory for my needs.

Looks great, Harb--I never would have thought of that combination before seeing the Master Date Gil has for sale in the Market Place, although I think I like that strap better with your light dial than the medium gray (sorry--"grey") on this one.

I knew JLC had a blue strap after seeing it in catalogues over the years and then, more recently, on that same watch in our Market Place.

To be honest, though, my choices were, necessarily, going to be rather limited.
I wanted something that would have a bit of colour yet still be acceptable on a dress watch. Also, I didn't fancy anything too strong like stingray or other exotic materials. I'd already had wine so that covered the red end of the spectrum. Maybe next year I'll try something green...

Green is really nice. I have a Green Beaver strap, by Rios (I think) which I wear sometimes on my JLC RDM, looks great.

Yup - I reckon I'll stick to the blue for this winter but that's pretty much exactly the shade of green I'd be looking for.

And it's by Bros, actually - you'd posted this pic and a link to the strap (http://www.brostrap.com/web/uk/articolo.asp?id=586) on another Thread :)

Looks super-cool... and the watch is gorgeous.

I may pop over there and see if they have a gun-metal blue for my Omega.

Harb - nice and unbelievable price/quality/looks ratio! To be honest, your JLC is such a classy and timeless watch it would probably go with ANY type of leather strap or colour/material combination. That's the appeal of the s/s Master series that most manufacturers just cannot match.
