Trying hard to work on it buddy. The only problem is the other software is so old that I do not think there is a way to do it. As a worst case we will have to simply archive it and start fresh. I also suspect this new layout will atract many new members. :)
What do you think of the new banner on top?

Simple....but elegant!

Is that the changed banner, Gil? Thought it looks like the same one from earlier. The watch pic is good, the text next to it (T.U.R.F and the stuff under it) could probably be improved... Or maybe more pics of watches.....

You have it cached. Please do a hard refresh by holding the control button and hitting refresh on your browser.

much better, only suggestion would be to reduce in height a bit. maybe just to the height of the watch faces, would also reduce the black space around the text a little. Lets wait for what others have to say as well.
Also, noticed that I'm still showing 2 posts, assuming my post count will eventually transfer over from the old forum..

Hmm...not sure if I like the new look or not. I guess it will grow on me, but I did like the simplicity of the old Turf. Still, good going Gil.
Finally! ;)
Nice work, guys.

Gil, I don't quite have your graphic talents but assuming you're serious :) emailed across 3 samples to your watch collector address. Let me know if you need any more...
Yes. Just have to work out how to use everything!

You can actually go into your user options and select a threaded or hybrid mode. I personally like this one better. :)

Hybrid could be good for finding things. Although, I think I prefer the old linear style for most things. If nothing else, it's interesting having a play to see what happens!

Yeah, I have spent 6 years at the old place. Sad to see it go.

My therapist said I have issues dealing with loss - and now we lose the old Turf! Ah well, back to the bottle! :)

I don't see any Google Ads - if there's no ads then who's paying the bills ?

I like the self indulgence with the moderators status " SUPER MODERATOR" lol
Stryke

Funny thing is, while it may seem like an egotistical title, this software actually has moderator status for general forums or super moderator status to control all forums. We didn't make it up. :)

How about changing the T.U.R.F to Rolexy green with the full stops in Rolexy gold.
I have no problems with the size of the script or the style of the T.U.R.F just the colour.
While I'm here how tricky/impossible would it be to have one large current or even vintage Rolex, with the model being changed on a daily/weekly basis in place of the three current models shown above, with the one replacement showing the current time - and even harder I presume - showing the current time locally for all viewers?
Thanks, Rolexroz

I have a better idea, Just get a big wad of gum and stick your own watch on your display :D

There was someone in the feedback section asking to keep things simple. Any idea who it was? ;)

agree with Rod, i think we should change the colour as well. I like the pictures of the watches, but dont like the font. also for some reason the black banner doesn't fit the width of the page in my opinion, maybe time for a TURF Design the banner contest or something.. :)

Thinking about it - that big banner is well over 100K in size - I often like to surf via a PDA and my costs/mobile contract is calculated by the kbyte rather than by time online.
So, taking that big banner in to consideration everyone who visits via a mobile device is going to get quite expensive over time.
Also the size of the thing means I spend a lot of time scrolling.

Every single person I know has unlimited bandwidth on their mobile devices, whether it is iPhone or Blackberry. It is included in the plans. I guess they still rape you guys on usage in Europe. It will be modified soon. It is a temporary banner. :)

Your're right, here in the UK we really do get hammered - it is getting better though but we're still way behind the rest of the world.
My device, and contract, is actually quite old. I'd like to change it but I just can't find a device with the same specification so I'm stuck with it for a while.
