We certainly need more members contributing to the forum. It seems post numbers have decreased quite rapidly since the changover?
I think the forum is a great haven for sensible people and I sometimes include myself in that higher echelon of society..
Maybe direct email to all members on a regular basis on new posts and latest polls, nude pictures etc...:-))
Something to draw the buggers in..!

That too is (almost) already being done!
We're in the process of sending out an email to all registered members who have not logged on for over a month to let them know what's going on here on TURF.
Keep the ideas coming, guys!
(...and preferably stuff we haven't already thought of...:p)

I think there could be mileage in a Turf calendar and possibly other merchandise. Any profits could then be put towards Turf upkeep and other initiatives.

How about a resident Agony Aunt who could help the waif n strays back onto the straight and narrow.?

Great idea! If only we knew someone...anyone...who could take a decent photo...;)

You called? :p
Difficult one, this, as we're a relatively small bunch here. I'm not sure that I can up with any ideas that would fly, to be honest, save to say that it would be nice to meet up occasionally. (Yes, I know I'm not coming to the dinner but it's rather a long way away for us southerners.)

Here's what the Admins/Mods have come up with so far:
More competitions : The TURF events calendar ( Not to be confused with a real calendar) will have an event/competition every 2 months. We have 6 competitions/events planned for the year and we intend on making this a permanent feature.
Eg: The TURF Lottery.
Increased participation: Emails are being sent out to all registered users that havnt come on TURF for over a month . This will let them know what they are missing.
More awareness: We plan to use the bulk mailing feature to inform all registered users about upcoming competitions, events etc. from time to time
TURF is now also on twitter, so you can keep track of the buy and sell and upcoming events through twitter.
Anything else that you guys can think of will be appreciated.

Yes, it has , but we have seen an upswing in activity over the past month.
We hope to keep the momentum going.

How about periodically auto-mailing a synopsis of new posts (perhaps with people opting out if they want to)?

Well, thats a little complicated.
We dont want to abuse the bulk mailing feature. We shall try and use it to inform people about the upcoming contests and updates on a periodic basis.

I just thought it was the most effective way to encourage members to actually post on the forum. But point taken.

Oh, I agree completely. Its probably the best tool that we have.
But we are going to use it judiciously ;)

Strange. I'm here daily too but didnt get even a single mail.
The software was programmed only to send mails to accounts that had no activity over the last 30 days or more.
