We have all seen the 'Bond' strap for the sub/dweller

http://corvuswatch.com/images/bond-goldfinger-strap-big.jpg

And have tried to copy this look with NATO straps etc, although none of these had the correct colors. Although, as Harb has rightly pointed out, these are regimental colors and shouldn't be worn if you're not associated to that specific military regiment.

Anyways, for those looking for the 'Bond' straps in more accurate colors and not to troubled with the ettiquette surrounding regimental colors, I stumbled on these straps

LOL! I see they offer a narrow 18mm version, to get that authentic understrapped look! Neat!

I rationalized it to be $29 plus $10 shipping. A bargain!

Everybody's economic situation is different, but spending $30 on a strap after spending several thousands on the watch can't be that big a deal.

for me geoff its not really the money that is the issue, its the fact that i can get natos cheaper(although not that colour) and unless the corvus ones have been dipped in angel pi$$ as part of the manufacturing process i dont see why they need to be more expensive!!

just my 2cents

I never thought they looked all that good, but those two are pretty sporty! I just couldn't replace a beautiful Oyster bracelet with anything else other than another Oyster bracelet. But, those two are pretty cool...

Just got the $39 "real" Bond strap. I like it much better than the grey and black Nato! My wife looked at it, and called it "God Awful". The flash didn't do it any justice, and the shine should wear off - if I wear it long enough before I miss the classic Oyster bracelet. Not that it justifies the higher price, I do think the Corvus strap has much nicer metal bits, finished in a rich looking shine compared to the black and grey bond Nato in my photo above.

That'd be due to the angels' pi$$... ;)

Thanks. Yeah, I'll be taking it on vacation next week, a little lake water should soften it up a bit.

Here's an update, my $39 Nato is fraying at the buckle and strap end. I may contact Corvus about it since it should be a little more durable after less then a week, right? Or are these bands just throw aways after a few months?

no, they should last years, have had some for a loooong time, some of them have spent 100s of hours underwater without fraying. sorry to hear this has happened, keep us updated please

Hmm that shouldn't happen I believe? These NATO/RAF style straps are supposed to be quite durable.
I was thinking of the Corvus, will hold out and see how yours develops.

I cut off some of the frayed edges with my trusty Swiss Army scissors. So far, the rest of the band is holding up OK. I may swap back to my grey and black Nato band purchased from Timezone, to see if it starts fraying.

I think it did settle down. Maybe when they're new, there are extra strands of fiber that need to be cut off? Here is a blurry shot (my cell doesn't do macro shots) - I think it's the only show in town when it comes to "real" Bond colored Nato straps! If I had a lighter, it would be almost perfect!

Ha! A Felix Leiter!

Jack Lords is THE Felix Leiter, all others are just substitutes! Actually, the Felix in Goldfinger was OK too.
