Maybe not too surprising but still a shock.

Loved his earlier albums...

What fame and fortune can do to a man.

He entertained us in many ways, music was just one of them.

Sad that he went so young.

I guess the wild accusations simply broke him both financially and mentally.

Despite his erratic behavior and bizzare lifesyle he was a gifted man. A hugely talented person and a superb entertainer. I have loved his songs. The passing of Farrah Fawcett on the same day has made it doubly sad. Rest in peace both.

It was the fame & fortune as a child that destroyed his life.

RIP Michael. I feel bad for his young children. The media is going to go crazy!

I don't think it's just the media that will go crazy - some of his fans are pretty mad too!

I dont think he ever grew up

The psychologist who examined him at the time of the trial said he was like a regressed 10-year old and didn't have the characteristics of a pedophile (source: Wikipedia).

He was a ground-breaking artist. Sad to see him go.

He will certainly be remembered as a pop music icon what with his music, dancing and videos.

While I’ve never been a big fan of his music I can certainly appreciate his accomplishments.

It would have been entertaining to see how he did in the London concerts he had booked to see if he still could perform at his previous levels. (They said on the news here that he stood to personally make $400 Million from the tour which sounds awfully high!!!)

One of the things I find interesting is that his popularity seemed to have fallen so much more in the US compared to the rest of the world after his (alleged) misadventures with young boys. I don’t know if it is because the incidents (supposedly) happened here, if we’re more prone to believe these sorts of things or if the allegations were discounted elsewhere.
