  • AD Watch Manager...

The watch manager at my AD called me asking questions about reloading ammunition. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. (To coin a phrase...) This is the AD that, at my request, put an aftermarket clasp on my SD. He hesitated a bit saying Rolex didn't want them modifying their watches. I said "You'd do it for Randolph Scott!" He said "RANDOLPH SCOTT!" and installed the clasp. I was glad he got the reference.

    Who's Randolph Scott?
Sounds like some stranger who wore a gun...

But the line comes from "Blazing Saddles." That is the real play here.

              Ah! That explains it.

I love Westerns. Just finished watching The Alamo on TV. Great movie. Richard Widmark, John Wayne as Bowie and Crockett. I keep hoping they will eventually beat Santa Ana, but it never ends that way!

I often tell people my Cinco de Mayo story. David Bowie and Bob Cratchit were defending the Alamo during the Spanish American Was when Mexico was trying to take Texas away from us, but the Santa Ana winds kept blowing in.....

The former watch mgr at my AD was from London. I'd always ask if the watch came with a full valid MOT. If so, I'd buy it.

Now I wonder if I should have bought the JLC new sector dial instead of the AK. Well, I have the AK and it's not going anywhere. In fact I just ordered a Rubber B strap for it. They said the one for the GMT II Ceramic will fit:

                  Should be smooth.
