My perfect Daytona....... Shame I can't afford one :-(

I do quite like that but don't think I'd spend 20k on it to be honest.

Problem is that there is always "one more" on the lust list. I have filled my watch box and try to use that as an ending point. But as George Carlin said, it's just a place for my stuff.

I've always thought of the Daytona as being a very dressy sports watch (even on a bracelet) and, in that vein, the leather strap models do have a certain charm.

But this Oysterflex variant puts the sports back into the iconic sports watch!

It's not actually too bad in the metal. I was a little undecided on the rubber straps though - still am. Seriously, would anyone actually make a habit of going diving in an 18k Daytona ceramic? I would certainly be happy to shower while wearing a Daytona (SS) and have a sauna..............but the yellow gold would surely be a scratch magnet for rough physical sports..

A rubber strap is not solely the preserve of diving watches.

It's the ne plus ultra material sportif du jour (...so to speak...)

I find I get all sweaty when I wear rubber.

              Straps, that is.............
