I managed to go all of December without an unplanned visit, but I'm back in hospital!

My face is swollen to the point where one eye is almost shut. I've had IV antibiotics, morphine and paracetamol. Currently waiting to see an eye specialist, but it is looking like I might very well have facial cellulitis!

    Feeling really rough.

Hope you get well soon, Chris.

The ophthalmologist was happy enough, although concerned that I am photophobic, have limited movement of the left eye, and am consequently finding hard not to see double.

Likewise, the maxillofacial surgeon was happy enough that they 'think' that the infection is currently limited to the skin and hasn't moved to deeper tissue or gone systemic, as evidenced by normal bloods and observations.

So, far now at least, I'm back home continuing with the pills and adding oral antibiotics.

Alas, my face and head are agony, and I look like I've just stepped out of the boxing ring!

Yes, it's true - I mean, we've never seen your face in photos...

That's because I'm so very, very good looking, I wouldn't want to attract yet more stalkers. It's bad enough all the women in my life as it is. Even the paramedics are getting in on the act, with one young lady proclaiming how Saturday was the third time she'd been out to me, all whilst sat on my bed.

It was funny in hospital, Sunday. I said to the person doing my vitals how I wouldn't be able to do any modelling that day, unless for a boxing shoot. They then started asking if that was how I make a living, as a model!

...before they proceed to feel your face with their hands to "see" what it looked like

What I want to know is, how do you regularly time after time develop illnesses that the rest of us (possibly Harb excepted) have never heard of?

I could tell you, but then I'd have to give you necrotising fasciitis!

Not quite sure what's going on now. Whilst some of the inflammation has begun to go down and skin started to peel, now when I move I'm getting a horrible tingling kind of sensation in my face and head. It's really unpleasant and wors if I turn my head, meaning that now I walk as though in a neck brace! I only have another 4 days of antibiotics left, so here's hoping things are better soon.

Seems to be a problem uploading photos! Something about writing temporary files.
